There are many different types of meditation, but some common techniques include:

  • Mindfulness meditation: This involves paying attention to the present moment, without judgment. It can help to reduce stress and increase awareness of one’s thoughts and feelings.
  • Breath meditation: This involves focusing on the breath and counting each inhale and exhale. It can help to slow the breathing rate and promote a sense of calm.
  • Guided meditation: This involves listening to a recorded voice that leads the listener through a series of mental images or suggestions for relaxation.
  • Transcendental meditation: This involves the use of a mantra, word, or phrase, that is repeated silently to the individual.

Meditation can be done in a seated position, lying down, or even while walking. It is generally recommended to start with short sessions (5–10 minutes) and gradually increase the time as one becomes more comfortable with the practice.
