Émile Coué (1857–1926) was a French psychologist and pharmacist known for his development of the Coué method, a form of self-improvement and autosuggestion.

He believed that people could improve their mental and physical health by using positive affirmations and repeating them to themselves regularly.

Coué’s method was based on the idea that the human mind could be divided into two parts, the conscious and the unconscious. According to Coué, the conscious mind was responsible for logical and rational thinking, while the unconscious mind controlled the body’s automatic functions, such as breathing and digestion.

Coué believed that by repeating positive affirmations, such as “Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better,” individuals could harness the power of their unconscious mind and improve their mental and physical health. He called this technique “autosuggestion.”

Coué’s method became popular in the early 20th century and was used by many individuals to improve their health, increase their confidence, and achieve their goals. Coué’s teachings were also influential in the development of modern self-help and positive thinking movements.

Today, Coué’s method is still used by many individuals to improve their mental and physical health. The method involves repeating positive affirmations to oneself regularly, focusing on the desired outcome, and visualizing success.
